Abstract:

The expression changes of drought response genes and phenotypic properties of physiology in peanuts (Arachis hypogaea) under repeated dehydration training were analyzed in this paper. The leaf wilting and curve degree of stem in peanut in D2 (repeated dehydration) treatment were lighter than that in D1 (dehydration of the first time) treatment. The curve degree of stem in R2 recovered earlier than that in R1. The percentages of leaf water content in D2 and R2 were respectively lower than those in D1 and R1. The variation range of completely open stoma ratio in D1 was higher than that in D2, and the completely closed stoma ratios in R1 were lower than that in R2. The expression levels of stress-related genes, AhNCED1, AhDHN1 and AhATL1, in D2 were higher than those in D1 plants. These results indicate that peanut plants possess drought stress memory. The expression levels of drought stress-related genes were increased under drought stress training, further enhancing drought tolerance and recovery ability after the release of drought.
